Helping you find the perfect large dining table is one of the challenges that we get most often from our clients. Usually, it comes in a form similar to this: “I’d like a table to seat ___ people. Do you have something like that?” The short answer is a resounding “yes.” The more detailed answer is that our Italian suppliers have many years of experience creating large custom dining tables not just for homes, but also for embassies, hotels, castles, palaces, and other giant settings. So working together with our clients, we can definitely craft a table to suit the space — regardless of the size.
For every 2 people you’d like to add to a rectangular table, you can assume that the table will need to increase in length — either in a fixed top, or through the addition of table leaves/extensions — by at least 2′ (on a round table you’d need an extra 4′ in circumference). So if you’re looking for a large rectangular table to seat 20, you can start by putting 2 folks on the ends of the table, then count 2 people each 2′ to seat the remaining 18 — or a total table length of 18′ (216″).
The table shown in production above is a great example of how one of our basic Italian table designs can be scaled upward as needed. This table is essentially the same as our very popular GV1238 Italian dining table; yet with the addition of several extra pedestals (and a large palace in which to ultimately place it), this table has an appropriate scale to be a 38 seater or more!
